Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in venture debt, revenue-based financing, and a keen eye for assessing the creditworthiness of early-stage companies. As an Underwriter at Insight Funders, you will play a critical role in evaluating loan applications, managing risk, and contributing to the growth of innovative startups.


Key Responsibilities:

• Credit Analysis: Evaluate the financial health and creditworthiness of early-stage companies seeking venture debt and revenue-based financing.

• Financial Modeling: Develop and utilize financial models to project company performance and repayment capabilities.

• Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with lending to high-growth startups.

• Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence, including reviewing financial statements, business plans, and market analyses.

• Loan Structuring: Design tailored financing solutions that align with the unique needs and growth trajectories of startups.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and relationship management teams to support client acquisition and retention.

• Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage the performance of the loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

• Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging sectors to inform underwriting strategies.

• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and investors.


Qualifications:

• Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.

• Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in underwriting, venture debt, revenue-based financing, or related financial services.

• Proven track record of assessing and managing credit risk in early-stage companies.

• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques, and financial modeling.

• Skills:

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.

• Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).

• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Familiarity with the startup ecosystem and venture capital landscape.
